Sports N' All
On the women's side, another legend of the sport is none other than Serena Williams. Williams, often declared as the greatest female athlete of all time, has won 23 grand slam titles, including one which she won while she was pregnant. Williams is one of the most athletic on tour, despite her age, being one of the oldest. Due to pregnancy, in 2017, after winning the Australian Open, Williams had to take a break from tennis, only returning in March of 2018. Her journey is one to admire for every player, as she is a common symbol of grit and hard work, as well as power and consistency over time.
One of the most prominent figures in tennis over the years has been the one and only Roger Federer. Federer was born and raised in Switzerland, and joined the pro tour in 1998. As of September 2019, Federer holds the most grand slams titles of any other male in the Open Era. He continues to be an idol of many children over the globe because of his calm, friendly demeanor on and off the court. Additionally, he is the founder of the Roger Federer Foundation, aiming to provide education and support for children in Africa.
